Sorry no pictures today. This was a travel day from Osaka to Matsumoto. I regret not taking pictures because the ride was so lovely. We took the Shinkasen from Osaka to Nagoya and then transferred to a local train up the mountains to Matsumoto. This area of Japan is called the Japanese Alps and you can see why. The train slowly rises between mountain valleys, over rivers and through small towns. I wish we could have spent more time in this area but alas it is hard to get from place to place and this was our little break.
